Restoration

1977 Jeep CJ7 Renegade

dscription

So Pat sent us the 1977 CJ7 Renegade that Him and his brothers grew up in. It was ROUGH! Lots and LOTS of rust in both the body and the frame. We tore the jeep down and made plates for the frame, cut out a lot of rust, rebuilt the rear frame horns and a new rear cross member. The body needed new floors, new inner and outer wheel wells in the back, under tailgate, body capture nuts, repairs on fenders and dash were required to get it in the shape it needed to be before it was massaged for paint. Fresh base/clear Tawny orange (mixed in house) was sprayed all over the jeep with a color matched bedliner done on the floors. All the prep paint was done in house. The 304 was rebuilt with a RV cam, Oiling upgrades, a rebuilt factory 2BBL carb and a Davis Unified HEI style distributor was the upgrades to the motor. Dual Magnaflow exhaust was installed to hear that cam and give it a great sound. The factory manual steering box was rebuilt, along with the T150 3 speed and Dana 20 transfer case. Both axles were rebuilt with stock 3:55 gears and 1 pc axle shafts were added to the rear. a 2.5″ softride lift kit and HD shackles round out the suspension and drivetrain. The seats were covered in a sunbrella type fabric that looks similar to the levis material. Original Levis buttons with a factory style stitch and a leather wrapped sport grip wheel brings the interior to life. A custom bikini top and re-covered half doors round out an amazing build. WOW what a looker, the manual steering, brakes and dual exhaust scream JEEP!!! in its purest fashion. I LOVE LOVE the Tawney orange, redone white wheels and the sound of a v8 cj!! Thanks again Pat and Reagan, I hope its brings back your highschool memories! I know it did for me.
